One time when we were in Bequia (a lovely untouristy island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines), whenever our rental hostess gifted us some fresh mangos from her garden, we'd put on our bathing suits and wade into the sea to eat them. Then we'd rinse off in the sea and bury the mango pits on the beach for the crabs to snack on.
