I went to the sea
to where the words went
after they went
when all their meaning had drained
and they were only sounds
...
I stood at the ocean
where the words had gone
when they were gone
and I listened to their
hush
...
i left the waters
and when i soon stood
the sound of those words
was as
breath

Nelson Bay
three or so hours North of Sydney
a morning of one beach after another
Zenith Beach, see photo
Fingal Bay
then Anna Bay
which has camels
for it has a long stretch of desert-like dunes
more desert-like than most of the Sahara i was in
back in just December
yet so long and so far ago

he has walked ten thousand miles
and is about to walk ten thousand more

in other news
sat on a beach chair
[for the first time in three decades?]
on Dutchmans Beach
looking out into the bay
with huge pelicans
two dolphins
cormorants and more
when
round the head
comes a fizzing patch of water
foaming, darker
and moving
so its a...?
moving dark parch of fizzing whited water
twenty metres by ten?
so its a
errr
shoal of something?
i guess
fish?
small fish?
i guess
moving along the coast
with cormorants and pelicans diving to it
and an occasional dolphin fin surfacing
as the fizzy patch steadily shifts
along the coast
twenty metres from the gentle waterline
round the next head
and gone
...
never seen that before
